Who are we ?

  • Romanian Society of Medical Physics (SRFM) was founded in 2011 in Bucharest at the initiative of a group of medical physicists working in radiation therapy and gradually joining colleagues in nuclear medicine or radiology.

  • Setting of SRFM was made under Government Ordinance no. 26/2000 as Romanian legal entity, of private law, governmental, apolitical, non-profit and proprietary or patrimonially independent

In SRFM besides medical physicists are enrolled nearly 90% of the total medical physics experts accredited by the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control and the Ministry of Health, for the fields of radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and medical imaging.

  • Romanian Society of Medical Physics tries to promote and help the development of medical physics in Romania with the support and active and unconditional participation to all national events dedicated to this profession by collaborating with the Society of Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, the Oncology Institutes, Faculties of Physics, with Ministry of Health and the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control.
